Sharing Behind The Scenes Visuals

Not everyone understands technical concepts like structured cabling and what it means. But you must be familiar with this before investing in it. Consequently, Cabling in DFW has started the “visuals” initiative.

Our visuals will take you to how we do structured cabling installation and the different cable types we use during the installation. Know our cabling systems such as data and voice, audio and video, fiber optics, and conduit installation. Understand different cable types such as Cat 5, Cat5e, Cat 6, and Cat 7.

These visuals are only for informational purposes, and not for training purposes. Also, we are committed to safeguarding our client’s information and not disclosing it in our visuals.

The visual showcases how to connect a fiber patch cable from a rare ISP to a network switch. We have a network switch, a fiber patch cable, and a transceiver module.

First, we have to identify whether the switch has the SFP module. Let’s remove it and see. This is an SFP model. Now, we have a fiber patch cable. These are its ends. Now, let’s see how to connect this network cable to the network switch we have.

For that, we need a transceiver module. It is an SFP transceiver module. First, we’ll connect the SFP module to an SFP port in the switch. Make sure to lock it properly. Now, let’s connect the fiber patch cable. Simply connect it to the SFP port and make sure it is secured properly.

The other end can directly be connected to the ISP.

This visual is of a data and voice cabling wall plate that manages both data and voice connections in one location. Upon removing the plate, there are two varied jacks: one for data and one for voice. The data jack is used to connect internet cables for network connectivity, supporting high-speed data transfers for devices like routers and computers. The next is the voice jack, designed for telephone connections, enabling voice communication. Both the two jacks are terminated to cables inside the wall cavity. The wall cavity holds the cables in place and keeps the cabling organized. So you see this is a simple yet effective way to manage data and voice connections in a single wall plate.
